I don't have the Eye of the North expension, so I wondered if an adjusted Discordway hero build would still work.

I only have acces to two Necromancer heroes, so I guess that's the biggest loss. Next to that I don't have acces to Putrid Bile, which seems strong, but not necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If Discordway is simply not viable without EotN, what build should I be running until I get EotN?

The fact you'll only have 2 necro heroes is a difficulty. You could use a different hero or something (ele with a high e-storage?) and spec Death at 12, but the lack of Soul Reaping will hinder it.
I've never really considered Putrid Bile as necessary, I don't think I usually bring it.

Another big loss is the lack of PvE skills - the human player would normally bring [Assassin's Promise][You move like a dwarf][Finish Him][Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support] - you'll have to find a way of replacing [You Move like a dwarf] and the others - [enfeeble] is nice because it's a short cast time and spammable (although [enfeebling blood] is usually better).

I'm not sure how well it would work with only 2 necros, give it a go and find out.

Basically it's an interpretation of your build that works on a hero.

Hell yeah. Drain Ench would become Rip and Power Drain would become Power Return/Spike for starters. And the ability to use runes would just push it to new heights.
Still - a decent way to use the mesmer hero since it doesn't have skills that would warp it's fragile little mind.

She preforms nicely with it. (Og course you can replace Enfeeble with EBlood. I ran multiple versions of Enfeeble and the short cast time ended being sweeter.))

There are so many variations you can run. You should have no problems or issues using an ele or mesmer hero instead of Livia. I myself would run a ele hero with an r12 in death and a r12+1 in energy storage, but thats me. Having a mesmer run a discord skill bar like Upier said would be nice for the added interrupts. Play around with both and find one you like.

I would buy EoTN when you can. It is buy far my favorite of all the campaigns. Getting Livia and the PVE skills are just one bonus to having EoTN. I think the dungeons are the best part. Have fun.

Btw - if you do end up running an ele - I'd suggest looking into Earth for Wards or Air for Blinding. You invest up to 10ish into the selected attribute and that gives you access to some godly utility next to the very nice Discord damage (while losing only on a few points in ES).
(Unless of course you're also going to bring Curses.)
